History

The Donegal Association has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1947, a time when many Irish immigrants were settling in London. The association's county groupings provided a sense of belonging and helped maintain important social connections.

Social evenings and annual dinner dances quickly became highly anticipated events, which helped elevate the association's social status. Looking back over the past 64 years, the association's achievements have been notable. In addition to providing a sense of community and belonging, the association has done outstanding charitable work, including providing financial aid to fellow country people affected by tragedy. Today, the Donegal Association of London remains committed to its mission of helping the Donegal and wider community in any way possible. With a legacy of service and dedication, the association continues to make a positive impact on the lives of many.
